Meet Dr. John Nowell
John Nowell, O.D., holds a Doctor of Optometry degree from The University of Alabama in Birmingham School of Optometry. Prior to that, he received his Bachelor’s degree from Auburn University.
He has been practicing optometry in Southwest Orlando since 1991, and is committed to providing excellence in eye care through ongoing professional education and the use of the latest technology in his practice. Dr. Nowell is a member of professional organizations such as the AOA-American Optometric Association, FOA- Florida Optometric Association, CFSOP- Central Florida Society Optometric Physicians, and ONS - Ocular Nutritional Society.
In addition to his professional work, Dr. Nowell is actively involved in various civic groups such as the West Orlando Rotary Club and offers volunteer vision care for organizations including The Coalition for the Homeless, Jeppenson Foundation, Lions Club, and Vision USA. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Optometry for Nova Southeastern College of Optometry, Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Chicago College of Optometry, Kentucky College of Optometry and Michigan College of Optometry.
In his leisure time, Dr. Nowell enjoys outdoor activities, particularly fishing, and is always happy to share some "fish stories" with anyone willing to listen.
